For successful work in the Examus proctoring system you need:

  • A stationary computer or laptop (tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices are not supported) in good condition. System requirements:
    • Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO or AMD Athlon x2, or newer models with SSE3 support, with at least 2 cores, and 1,8 GHz or higher;
    • 4 GB RAM or more;
    • Free space on HDD or SSD - 500 MB;

  • The latest version at the time of the exam of the Google ChromeMicrosoft Edge or Yandex.Browser internet browser. To check and update the browser version, use the chrome://help/ link for Google Chrome or browser://version for Yandex.Browser and edge://settings/help for Microsoft Edge). In some cases you can use the Examus application instead of a browser to pass the exam (we recommend you to check the possibility of using the Examus application in the instructions provided by your university);
  • Supported OS: 
    • Windows 7 Home Basic / Windows 8 / Windows 10 Home / Windows 11 (Windows 8 RT and Windows 10 S does not support);
    • macOS 10.12.1 or newer;
    • Ubuntu 14.04 (x64) or newer;
    • Debian 8(x64)  or newer;
    • OpenSUSE 13.3 (x64) or newer;
    • Fedora Linux 24 (x64) or newer;

  • Availability of a working and turned on front-facing webcam (including built-in laptops) with resolution 640x480 px or higher;

  • Availability of a working and enabled microphone (including the integrated in laptops cameras);

  • Availability of a stable Internet connection with the rate of data transmission from the user of at least 1 Mbit/s. You can test the connection speed here

  • Open ports:
    UDP: 3478 (STUN/TURN), 49152 - 65535 (WebRTC media),
    TCP: 443 (HTTPS), 3478 (STUN/TURN)


The computer should pass the computer check successfully. The check becomes available before passing the test using the link provided by the university.
