This stage of the system check can fail with one of two error messages:
- "Webcam not found";
- "No image from the webcam".
"Webcam not found"
Here's what you can do to fix this error:
- Allow sites to access your camera in the browser;
- Make sure the camera is connected to your computer (if it's an external cam) or connect it to a different USB port;
- Update or reinstall the camera driver;
After you follow the recommendations, restart the browser and re-launch the system check.
"No image from the webcam"
In order to fix this issue, try the following:
- Turn on the light in the room and remove any objects that can cover the webcam.
- Connect the webcam to a different USB port.
- Update or reinstall the camera driver.
After you follow the recommendations, restart the browser and re-launch the system check.
The check is stuck in a loop
In certain cases, the "image from the webcam" might get stuck in a loop:
Here's what you can do to fix it:
- Disable any programs that can access your webcam (Skype, Discord, TeamViewer, Zoom, etc);
- Close any other browser tabs that might be using the webcam at the same time;
- Allow access to the webcam in OS settings (Windows, macOS);
- Turn off your antivirus (if used) for the duration of the exam.
After you follow the recommendations, restart the browser and re-launch the system check.
